There are peculiar moments in history where the greats are all gathered in the one space, either already being known for their greatness or before their greatness has been recognised.
No matter who asks me, I’d always think there was something very special about the past core team. It made me think of the 1927 Solvay Physics Conference; how 17 of the 29 attendees were, or would become, Nobel Prize winners. Even in today’s world, a consistent pattern over the decades is the most celebrated people of a time being known by each other and part of their lives’ stories.
I don’t mean that this is true for every celebrated person in human history, but it does happen. It happened in Babcock once before with Paystack. And I personally think it happened again. It happened with our beloved Core Team of the 25/26 academic session.
Now, I don’t want them to feel like I put them on a pedestal. I acknowledge their humanity and their ability to make mistakes. But I also saw a team effort that inspired hundreds of lives, including mine.
I saw what was possible when you wanted something hard enough and got the right people to help you build it. I don’t have much to write for this piece. I don’t think you need too much English to pass a point across. And I don’t want to list out all of the achievements either.

To the past Core Team, thank you for working harder so we could dream bigger. Thank you for your time and your effort and inspiring so many of us. We love you all deeply and this community will never be the same again.
