Women in tech has always been a topic that comes with the addendums of stereotyping, gender bias, and stereotyping - and like any contested notion- there are the frontliners proving that women indeed have a huge part to play in the coming about of the technological age.
One of said people is our Infrastructure & Security Track Lead - Oluwatomilola Arogundade - a cybersecurity professional that has worked in firms ranging from CFSS, ShadowFox, MasterCard, to her most recent engagement at Shef Labs.
Tomi’s focus is showing that security can be for everyone, and making cybersecurity less intimidating and much easier to relate with.
Her work has garnered recognition and awards in several forms, namely being a Women Techmakers ambassador, a fellow in the ‘26 class of the Women Techsters Fellowship, and coming out of the Innovation and Enterpreneurship Fund as a Tier 1 winner.
An initiative through which she is now developing an healthcare solution designed to improve medical access for underserved communities.
So whether it’s training students, facing off against hackers, consulting on security awareness, or simply telling her story, she’s driven by one thing: impact.
